If you were publishing traditionally, chances are you’d have little say in your book’s cover. Indie author Terri Giuliano Long published her debut novel which powerfully explored the classic struggle of teenagers coming of age, In Leah’s Wake, in early 2011. The novel, which has sold 125,000 copies to date, has also won a slew of awards including Global e-Book Award, Popular Literature, 2012; Indie Discovery Award, Literary Fiction 2012; and 2011 Book Bundlz Book Pick. But by 2012, Terri wanted a more professional cover to reflect her maturity as an author. She worked closely with our designer Kris to create not just a new In Leah’s Wake cover, but a branded second cover for her upcoming novel Nowhere to Run. The result? Our designer took the first cover, which was:
